In Loué, Pays de la Loire, the Hôtel-Restaurant Ricordeau is a charming house of character, a regional institution where it’s good to recharge your batteries. Anne-Cécile and Ludovic Deschamps have created 13 spacious rooms opening onto a large garden with a river running through it. The interiors are decorated with noble materials for every comfort. This 19th-century stagecoach inn offers gourmet dining. It has been awarded a Michelin star and two toques by Gault et Millau. Chef Didier Chapeau invariably features tasty farmhouse poultry from Loué on his menu, which he accompanies with seasonal touches according to his inspiration. An outdoor swimming pool for relaxation, bicycles for hiking and a horse-riding center are all nearby.
