On the heights of mount Orfano in Franciacorta, Lombardy, the Convento dell’Annunciata Wine Retreat—an ancient convent founded in 1449 by the Servite Fathers and reborn under the stewardship of the Moretti family and Bellavista since the 1980s—stands amid vineyards, olive groves, and oaks in an atmosphere suited to quiet reflection.
Nestled on the second floor and opening onto the central cloister, the rooms blend monastic volumes with contemporary interventions in subtle harmony. Furnishings combine pieces once owned by the Servite Fathers and objects brought back by the Moretti family from their travels, while solid oak beds crafted by local artisans from surrounding forest timber underscore the retreat’s terroir roots. Three categories—Suites, Elite, and Comfort—extend this balance, offering discreet comfort and a refined ambiance.
At the heart of the estate, the Chardonnay “Convento dell’Annunciata,” launched in 1991, embodies the expression of a carefully tended terroir. Bellavista-guided tours reveal this exceptional wine and the vineyards’ history, where each vintage unfolds a chapter of Franciacorta.
Under monastic vaults, a variety of spaces—lower cloister, refectory, Convivium Hall, Hall of the Chimeras, Fireplace Room, loggia, greenhouse, wine cellar and olive grove—accommodate both intimate ceremonies and larger receptions. Private celebrations, conferences, seminars, exhibitions or concerts find here an historic setting, where each venue inspires memorable gatherings.
